Hey everyone,

I couldn’t help but think about what we all accomplished in the past three days.  Just take a look at the numbers below and what it took to get these children here.  This is amazing to me that other than some delays to get the escorts back home, we pulled this off and got these three children to where they needed to be.  Challenges, there were many, from Cindy getting stuck in Sioux Falls the night before this trip, to Martine ending up at DFW the night before and having to go back to MIA before leaving for Paris, and lest we forget that Masako was not even confirmed on the CDG-PHL flight!  Did I mention that Masako’s trip 2 weeks before cancelled when she originally tried to go over and get Mariama? Everyone pulled together and helped each other out and we pulled it off.

So many many thanks to all of you and certainly to the people at QRD in Dallas who answered so many of my emails and frantic phone calls when things kept changing, Laetitia Alger-Schley who sends our police letters to CDG requesting their assistance in the transit of the kids and certainly ASF and their volunteers.  Without AA’s support, we could never do this. We did it, and we have all helped to make these three children’s lives better.  It really does take a village.  You should all be very proud!  Thank you!

Response from Escort Masako (Bunny) Doi:

“Thank YOU Wayne for coordinating the trip and worrying about us every step of the way. We are team!  And just imagine, by our efforts, we are part of life changing experience for these children. FYI, CDG police procedures are different every time: and you know I have done many. And this time, they kept us in the police station until almost 1 hour prior to departure. The police took our passports to the gate (I assume) instead of escorting us to the gate right away.  But it was easier on us as they did all the work for us. It definitely helped for me that ASF contacting Margaret and Wayne in advance to specify time and location. It worked so smoothly to meet my ASF escort and the child.  The police were so kind. Thank you so much!

Response from  Escort Martine Longchamp:
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve one of these beautiful little children. It gave me so much pleasure to fly with Boni and Cindy. And the kids were so adorable. I have put them in my prayers for their medical procedures to be successful and for speedy recovery. I would love to bring Florence back when she needs to go back home. Wayne thank you for your dedication and thanks for staying up late to stay in touch with Cindy and I during our many transition difficulties to and from Paris. Ladies it was a truly an honor to serve these children with all of you. This is what life is all about – helping humankind and helping each other. I am forever grateful to be part of such an amazing team of people.
May God enrich your lives and give you a double portion of blessings for all your troubles.
Much love, Martine”
