Help for
Haiti |
Airline Ambassadors teams
provided $25,000 of in-kind aid and more than $10,000 to
support LaFeve School and All God’s Children’s Orphanage
in Haiti. We provided school supplies, school
sponsorship, $ to reinforce a new library and
coordinated a dance party, pool party and even a Concert
for the Kids with Timmy Thomas and Alana Joy of New
Generation! Check out the video from our very own star
reporter - journalist - Sandy Dhuyvetter of TravelTalk
Media - Link to preliminary video and picture gallery.
MIRACLE – Our July team turned
lemons into lemonade when their trip was extended due to
the challenges with standby travel. They stumbled upon a
needy orphanage of 24 kids called "Cobba".

Construction had not begun on the school as the
orphanage did not have enough lumber to complete
it. Due to a
series of synchronicities - and a generous donor,
Gilbert Ramos of Eco-Building Products - we
manifested all the lumber needed to finish the school!
Deanna plans a return trip in October to review its
progress! |
Orphan
Lift |
THANK YOU to those that
volunteer each month for our Children’s Escort program
and there is simply not room to share all the stories.
Here is ONE:
Bravo to dozens of
AAI volunteers and support from American Airlines
facilitating the complicated transfer for 180 orphans
from dozens of flights to their connections back to
Ukraine and Latvia on Aug. 2.
Volunteer escorts from
American Airlines and American Eagle traveled with kids
from all over the U.S. to JFK returning home after
spending a 5 week summer holiday. |
|
The trip was
coordinated by New Horizons and the kids each stayed
with foster families throughout the United States. At
JFK, American Airlines provided breakfast, lunch, movies and
gifts for kids in their terminal and everyone left for
Latvia and the Ukraine that afternoon without a hitch.
Special thanks to Margaret Whitehead, Director of our
Escort Program, and Wayne Lee who managed the process on
location and David Lombard of American Airlines! Click

Safe House
Dedications |
Kudos to AAI’s Dave Rivard, Claude Bazille and
Virgil Pierrsant who have overseen construction of Safe
Houses at seven locations in Haiti. Airline Ambassadors
was commissioned by UNICEF to build these houses to
provide a safe, clean place for the Bureau of Protection
of Minors (a division of the Haitian police) to place
children that they picked up who had been victims of
abuse, trafficking or abandonment. |
"Thank
you American Airlines" |
AAI’s teams in June and July dedicated the Safe
House in Port au Prince to the International Tour
Management Institute and the location in Mirebalais to
Hilton Worldwide.

Stolen: From Playgrounds to
Street Lights
The world of
modern-day slavery came to life on-stage at
the Atlas Performing Arts Theater in
Washington, DC, August 4. AAI’s DC Regional
Director, Delphia Roberts and actual
survivors of human trafficking performed
riveting monologues about sex trafficking
and prostitution that happens right here in
the USA. Click here
for more information.
Delphia
is a USAIR flight attendant, and one of our
trainers in human trafficking
awareness.

September 11th Memorials
Airline Ambassadors is honored to
support Gear Up Foundation at special ceremonies
at Ground Zero at sunrise, and Pearl
Harbor at sunset on Sept. 11. These
Moments of Remembrance will raise public awareness
about those who continue to suffer
from their response on that fateful day and
afterwards. 500 Airline Ambassadors members
are among those that responded and
worked tirelessly to support the response teams
and the families of victims after the
disaster. Please join us at these
events, help to “sponsor a hero”, or
wave the American Tribute Flag ($20)
to make the lives of these noble Americans better
and remembering them for their bravery
and their courage and for many of them, the
sacrifice of their health and lives.

Drop in the Bucket
A drop in the bucket is only a
drop, A tiny and moist detail. One drop
can't change the color and taste Of a ten quart
watering pail.
But if that drop has the color of
love, And the taste of tears divine One
drop dropped into the vessel of life Can change the
water to wine.
