Additionally,
AAI's Denver Regional Director, William Dise, secured an aircraft
which will deliver much-needed help to several NGO's on the ground
in Haiti. Through generous donations from LDS Charities, AAI
will be sending food, first aid kits, hygiene kits, school kits and
newborn kits on the American Airlines flight. Thank you to our
members for supporting these efforts in our campaigns!
Future plans for
February Haiti relief efforts include AAI's initiation of a
feeding program for
more than 50 HIV children living in an orphanage in
Port-au-Prince. Nanacea
Resoluable Nutritional food will supply the nutrient-rich
food. Eric Klein and a group from Can-Do
Organization will be joining the AAI team to do a needs assessment
on the ground and to provide a live stream to document the state of
affairs in Haiti."

Kirsten
Perkins, Airline
Ambassadors' New
Orleans
Mission Coordinator has
stories to tell about
her August
and
October missions! She
begins by sharing a bit
about
the
August adventure,
"Our
intention on this trip was
to
work on the 24 hour build to
commemorate the 3rd
anniversary of when the
hurricane hit....
"Unfortunately,
upon arrival I
received a call telling
us not to
come
as Hurricane Gustav
was
on the way and they were
concerned with evacuating
everyone. We
decided to stay,
spending one day working on a
house and the rest of
the week
assisting residents
to prepare for
the
hurricane....
We
evacuated ourselves on Sat....Gustav hit on Monday."
