This month our escort team coordinated the largest ever medical escort trip!  Enjoy pic below and see letter from our Coordinator Margaret Whitehead below:

Last night we brought 5 little ones from Burkina Faso into CMH for various surgeries. This is the largest group we’ve ever brought at one time and 3 ORD flight holding-babyattendants were escorts on the trip. In the 1st photo above, Bunny Doi is 2nd from left, then Anne Tepe (standing on left) and next to her Kyle Rogers. Anne and Kyle helped bring the kids from CDG and Bunny met them in PHL and helped on the last part of the trip. The other escorts were from MIA, DFW, PHL, and BOS so we had quite an eclectic crew. The photo was made in PHL where the international escorts handed the kids over to the domestic escorts. One of the kids has no legs, another has only one leg, 1 had a deformed leg, 1 had club feet, and the baby a cleft lip and palate. Sara Rosado (center in photo) from MIA Flight Service, has made many of these trips and said this was the most difficult one ever for her because the kids cried for their mommies off and on the entire flight. So sad……  Kyle, one of your ORD F/A’s, Roger, is one of our newer escorts and did an outstanding job on this trip. Everyone had praises for him.  Sometime ask him why he came off the airplane in CMH with a baby in one arm, a wadded up white dress shirt in the other hand that he promptly threw in the nearest trash can, and was wearing a soiled white tee shirt! He was laughing about it, though. Anne Tepe is one of our long time escorts and always does a good job and, of course you know Bunny Doi has done more escort trips than anyone. Bunny and Kyle were supposed to take a flight home last night from CMH but their Eagle flight got into CMH late from PHL and they misconnected. That was the biggest hiccup, but logistically it went extremely well.
