It has been just over a year since the beginning of AAI’s Sponsorship Program at Shepherd of the Hills Children’s Foundation (SOTH) in the Philippines. It has been a very busy and rewarding experience for Maricon Pulga (Social Worker and Sponsorship Coordinator at SOTH) and myself. We would like to thank all of our sponsors, and especially Brett Halverson and the Howard Charitable Trust, for making the sponsorship of 34 children possible!
Our October Philippine mission trip was also a big success. We had a fantastic group of AAI volunteers and we painted two of the boy’s homes and installed hand-made curtains. We also took all the children to a wave pool excursion in Subic Bay.
So many children are benefiting at home and in school from our sponsorship program. During our recent trip, we noticed that many of the kids at the orphanage are growing up fast. This inspired a new endeavor. Brian O’Reilly and Philip Page donated money for our very first College Sponsorship Program through AAI! John Anthony dela Fuente is now enrolled in a two-year, Computer Training course at Kolehiyo Ng Subic. This is very exciting and provides hope for all the children! (see his picture to left)
