See below a letter from Mission Leader Cheryl Robinson:
Dear Maria,
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for opening up your home and the daycare center to all of us. We had a wonderful time getting to know you and all the children. It’s an opportunity that does not come along very often, knowing someone like you and seeing all that you are accomplishing is amazing. You have touched all of our hearts and souls in a way I will never be able to explain. You are truly an angel to so many people and it has been an honor to get to know you. We are very fortunate that Sylviya has introduced us to you.
We all had a wonderful time painting your home, playing with the children, enjoying the KFC and ice cream party, and all the fun games. When the children and all of you were singing for us it was truly the highlight of the evening. It’s always sad to say goodbye but I know we will see you next year and always hoping that some of the people will return but if not I will be bringing a new group. Hoping we can continue the garden next year.
Please extend our thank you to Mr. Nordman and the staff at the school for such a wonderful luncheon and tour of his school. I hope we can come back next year and continue to build a wonderful relationship with them. I do not have his email address to send them a thank you, so if you have it could you pass it along to me so I can send him a thank you.
Sylviya has a cash donation for you from all of us, please let me know what you do with the money and I will pass it along to the group. We are very excited to hear what you do with it.
I will be sending those beautiful pictures with the children in their T-shirts to Angels Of Hope. Thank you for sending them so quickly. The children looks so beautiful as do all of you !
Once again thank you for everything… We sure enjoyed our trip. It was an experience none of us will forget. Until we meet again next year about the same time.
I hope everyone enjoyed the lion safari park… I did not see any pictures yet from Victoria, but I hope it was a day everyone will remember.
Please send my love to everyone,
Thank you so much again for your hospitality,
Cheryl
Hello Grant and Sharon,
I’d Dear Sharon and Grant,
I’d like to say a special thank you from all of us for opening up your home and sharing your lovely children with us. We all had a wonderful time and I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work everyone did preparing that delicious meal for us. I’m sure it was the first time most of us had the experience of eating kudu. I heard that was a gift to you and the children and I can’t thank you enough for sharing it with us. It’s something we will never forget.
We all enjoyed playing games, listening to the children sing and dance (which was awesome), enjoying local food prepared by you, painting, gardening, and also helping with the wood pile… I hope that Grant’s foot has healed.
I know they really enjoyed learning how to cook… Thank you so much for letting them help. Also playing and holding baby Lilya was awesome. I know Dorothy really enjoyed it and felt needed. I think the biggest hit though was Chris… The children really loved him we were so fortunate that he joined our trip.
Thank you Grant for doing that study on most of us, we were all discussing it on our Safari and can’t wait to really look into it now that we are home.
Sylviya will be contacting you about our cash donation. Please let me know what you do with the money and I will share it with the group. I am looking forward to next year already, please let me know if there is anything special in advance that you might need or want. We will be planning the trip about the same time of year, so see you just now !
Sending our love,
Please take care,
Thank you so much,
Cheryl
THANK YOU from local coordinator Silviya Simmonds to AAI Team:
Hello Everyone
Trust all settled back now and over jet lag – although for some of you back up into the air!!
It was soo lovely to meet you all very special angels and hope that one day well be able to meet again also seeing you again Larry was so special:)
I would like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being such a blessing to both Maria, Grant and Sharon and for your GENEROSITY, KINDNESS, LOVE, CARING and COMPASSION. Also all the time and effort put into your trip which really meant a lot to them and the children. This was so much appreciated and know the kids brag about getting visitors from America, spending time with them, makes them feel special and not forgotten. Dr Tom you were such an amazing blessing, thank you so much – maybe tho some kids didn’t think so at the time!!
Thank you soo much for EVERYTHING – all absolutely amazing:):) ALL the goodies – WOW it was just like Christmas! Please convey big thanks to everyone else who contributed as well. Also for all the hard work and effort in the projects being such a BIG help and helping make such a BIG difference. Just to get basic necessities is an everyday challenge so real needs were met through your generosity, kindness and caring. Both Grant and Maria will let you know the difference your generosity has made in their lives – another big amazing wow!
You have given hope in the midst of often hopeless and helpless circumstances not just in a very practical way but also showing love through your caring compassionate hearts. We know seeds of love have been planted and trust they will be nurtured and grow and will be passed on to impact not only the kids own lives but the wider community as well.
So many thanks to you all and all contributed to an amazing mission – words don’t seem adequate for the gratitude felt but a special big thanks to AAI and Nancy for the ongoing love and amazing support. Also to you Cheryl for being such an amazing mission leader – the BEST- for all the time, hard work and effort in making the trip so enjoyable and successful both from the humanitarian and adventure side.
May God continue to bless you all and your families.
Lots of love and hugs across the miles
Sil 🙂 xx
