Corlene Horan provided an escort for Healing the Children in SEA from UIO to PDX in 2001. The “kid” is now grown, married, and a father and wants to personally thank that escort for taking such good care of him on the trip. When Corlene heard this here was her response:

 “Yes, I am totally thrilled!!  There is a long wonderful story that started with this escort!  The boy is Daniel Pincay and I escorted him and another young boy to Guayaquil in November, 2001.  I have his picture on my desk and think about him often with fond memories.

After escorting Daniel, I started doing mission trips to Guayaquil, bringing huge amounts of aid to INNFA government day care centers, through Carmen Figueroa and her sister, Zorayda, the doctor who arranged the escorts from Guayaquil.  I did several of these missions, each time spending an evening with the mission group at Daniel’s house.  We brought food, the family made food and Daniel’s dad played the guitar and sang.  It was always such a great party for mission participants!  After the missions ended, I stayed in touch with Carmen who checked-in on Daniel’s family for me.  It seems that the parents separated and the older daughter who occasionally emailed me but unfortunately, I lost touch.  I am delighted to be able make contact with Daniel again!

Mayan Families in Guatemala forwarded to me a Facebook inquiry regarding a search for Daniel’s escort and mentioned my name.  That was a gal named Diane Hansen in the Seattle area code. I called her and left a message today and look forward to hearing from her.  With everyone’s help, we will be re-connected!”
